Breaking Free Community Church
Statement of Faith
For the purpose of maintaining unity, Breaking Free Community Church. (BFCC) has adopted the following Statement of Faith:

1. The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16–17

2. The Trinity
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Luke 3:22; Matthew 28:19

3. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23); in His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26); in His miracles (Acts 2:22); in His vicarious and redemptive death through His shed blood (Hebrews 9:22; 1 Corinthians 15:3); in His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:6); in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 12:2; Acts 1:9); and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. The Church
We believe the Church of Jesus Christ has a fivefold purpose: worship (Romans 12:1–2; Matthew 22:37–39), discipleship (Matthew 28:19–20), evangelism (Matthew 28:19–20), fellowship (Hebrews 10:24–25), and service (Ephesians 4:11–16).

5. Ordinances of the Church
We believe the Church observes two ordinances: Holy Communion (1 Corinthians 11:23–26) and water baptism by immersion (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38).

6. Salvation
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is biblically essential. John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5

7. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, and that by His indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. Galatians 5:22–23; John 14:15–17; 1 Corinthians 3:16–17; 6:11

8. Spiritual Gifts
We believe spiritual gifts are given to all believers and are operational in the Church today. Romans 12:3–8; 1 Corinthians 12:1–11; Ephesians 4:7–16

9. Empowerment for Evangelism
We believe that to every believer God has provided a measure of spiritual power for the evangelism of the lost. Matthew 28:18–20

10. The Blessed Hope
We believe in the blessed hope—the resurrection and rapture of the saints.1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

11. Resurrection and Judgment
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved unto the resurrection of life (Revelation 20:4–6; 2 Corinthians 5:10), and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (Revelation 20:11–15).

12. The New Heaven and New Earth
We believe in a literal new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21–22

13. Unity of Believers
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Psalm 133:1; Colossians 3:12–15

14. Eternal Security
We believe in the eternal security of all believers who are in Christ and have been born again. 1 John 5:11–13; John 10:27–29; John 3:3, 16
