Servant Leadership Training is a live, interactive online and hands-on training program designed to equip those called to serve the suffering, homeless, and addicted. It requires a one-year commitment focused on allowing God to develop purpose and leadership in a future leader’s life.

Quality leadership does not come easily. It requires time, dedication, study of the Word, character building, and maturity—developed through a structured process that provides hands-on experience. Mature servant leadership flows from mature character, which is most often formed through life’s challenges and God's refining process. Skills alone are not enough; a leader whose abilities exceed their character development will eventually falter. Successful, enduring ministry comes from a leader whose ministry skills, relational skills, and godly character have been tempered and developed through experience and spiritual growth.

Character formation is the foundation from which true ministry flows—not from performance or gifting alone. The Servant Leadership Training program focuses on all these key areas of development, with an emphasis on character formation. It provides a safe environment where emerging leaders can engage in hands-on ministry. We believe in an internship and mentoring-based approach to ministry, where new leaders are guided by experienced, seasoned mentors.

This program is offered at no cost to those who feel led to answer the call to help those struggling with life-controlling issues.

Program Structure

Servant Leadership Training (SLT) is a three-year program broken down into one-year commitments. It begins with an initial 10-week trial to help participants discern if they are truly called to this type of servanthood ministry.

The program focuses on three main areas of Christian development:

1. Character Formation

2. Relational Formation

3. Ministry Training

Certification Progression:
✅ After 1 year – Christian Worker’s Certificate
✅ After 2 years – Commissioned Minister Certification
✅ After 3 years – Licensed Minister Certificate
✅ After 4 years of ministry service – Ordained Minister License

Breaking Free Inc. also recognizes and transfers other ministerial credentials where appropriate training has already been obtained and developed.
