John Story, LCDC

(Collin County Adult Probation Officer, retired)

I have known Scott Mormon since the late 80’s when he began his recovery from drug addiction. I’ve witnessed him struggle with his demons & emerge victorious. I’ve witnessed Melanie his wife and Him  establish a successful addiction residential rehabilitation program in GA & re-plant the same program in Collin County, Texas.  I have been involved in the addictions recovery field for over 30 years & found that Breaking Free is able to fill a gap that most programs miss in meeting the spiritual needs that blend successfully with the psychological needs of a struggling person in the grip of addiction.  Long term or short term I would recommend Breaking Free for the person that is willing to work, & is SERIOUS about victoriously taking their life back & becoming a productive family member & citizen.

Dawne Niethamer, MSSW

(Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist & Family and Social Services)

I have had the pleasure of working with Breaking Free/Texas for approximately 7 years.  I have referred a number of young adults to the program to help them recover from their addictions.  I have always found the staff to be open/  transparent and supportive of all the people whom I have placed.  The staff offers wrap around support for the individuals and their families.  The co-founders, Scott and Melanie Mormon, are true servant leaders whom have a heart for individuals to suffer from the devastating disease of addiction. We need more programs like Breaking Free!!  This organization is a gift to our community!!!

(Pastor of Crosspoint Church)

Breaking Free is an amazing faith based outreach ministry to assist people in finding freedom from life controlling habits, by connecting them with Christ. I have witnessed the transformational life change that happens at Breaking Free first hand.  They are also involved in World Wide Ministry, as the hands and feet of Jesus, to the indigenous people in Costa Rica.
